Alpha Phi Alpha (ΑΦΑ) Mission and Vision Statements Analysis

Alpha Phi Alpha mission statement is “develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities.” The statement brings out the most important aspects of this fraternity – improving its society through capacity building. These are its main components:

At Alpha Phi Alpha (ΑΦΑ), there are three critical areas through which the institution impacts on individuals and the community. One of these that directly changes the lives of its members is the national programs that incorporate numerous outreaches such as brother’s keeper and project Alpha to educate, support, or empower people to thrive in different situations. Other areas include the Alpha foundations and social initiatives, all of which are rich with activities and support mechanisms that gradually improve how people of color interact and relate with others in the communities.

Introduction

The mission and vision statements of Alpha Phi Alpha (ΑΦΑ) embody an organization that gives everything to succeed in its purpose. As an African-American establishment, Alpha Phi Alpha has exhibited how passionate it is when it comes to the interests of the people of color since 1906.

The fraternity has been vocal in airing the needs of this group, while at the same time serving as its vision. Its feat so far affirms the vitality of corporate statements in a company. With a corporate vision statement, an institution has a projected future to work towards, while the corporate mission statement offers the steps to get there. In addition, the core values contribute to the passion and enthusiasm needed for growth.

For Alpha Phi Alpha, the vision statement is all about stimulating members to excel. The mission statement on the other hand, emphasizes on continually developing the community of color. These two tools are buoyed by the core values, which influence the direction of the entire organization by creating a supportive environment.

Vision Statement

Alpha Phi Alpha vision statement is “to stimulate the ambition of its members; to prepare them for the greatest usefulness in the cause of humanity, freedom, and dignity of the individual; to encourage the highest and noblest form of manhood; and to aid downtrodden humanity in its efforts to achieve higher social, economic, and intellectual status.” While these also double as the statements of this organization, they reveal the ambitions that Alpha Phi Alpha has. The fraternity satisfies the first component through its various training opportunities and support structures. By emboldening individuals, Alpha Phi Alpha paves way for the restoration of communal pride. That is how this fraternity has gained a stronger grip in its fight against all forms of injustices meted against African Americans.

Core Values

Alpha Phi Alpha core values comprise “service first, respect, embracing diversity, integrity, and perseverance.” Such an institution requires a strong foundation to withstand all the social and political barriers that may come its way. With the values that it enforces, Alpha Phi Alpha has cultivated an internal culture that can endure anything. It also accelerates the progress of the fraternity towards the achievement of the mission and vision.
