University of Southern California (USC) Mission and Vision Statement Analysis

USC’s mission statement is “development of human beings and society as a whole through the cultivation and enrichment of the human mind and spirit.” The statement underscores the consistent efforts of USC to initiate growth in societies through education and spiritual enrichment. This mission statement by USC has the following components:

The first component represents the primary mandate of USC (University of Southern California), which is to disseminate education as an institution of learning and research. The university offers a wide range of academic programs aimed at churning out graduates who can make a difference in society. USC’s core values comprise “engage, support, and educate.” These core values are exactly what has seen USC grow from an institution that a meager 53 students and about 10 members of staff to serving above 44, 000 students and thousands of members of staff today. In addition to this, the culture of this institution, as guided by its core values, has made it one of the top universities in the world.
