Gonzaga mission statement and vision statement analysis

Introduction

The mission and vision statements of Gonzaga University represents a learning facility whose focus is on training professionals while at the same time instilling Christian values. The Roman catholic facility was started in 1887 with only 7 students but has since grown into one of the best institutions of higher learning in the U.S. led by its mission and vision statements.

The definition of a corporate vision statement shows that it describes the desired future of an organization, while that of the mission statement identifies how to get to the identified future accomplishments. For Gonzaga, the vision statement is to develop the institution into the best facility for faith and learning. On the other hand, the mission statement explains how the facility seeks to impact both its students and society. The core values of Gonzaga also influence the progress of this organization by working seamlessly with the mission and vision statements.

Mission Statement

Gonzaga mission statement is that the “university is an exemplary learning community that educates students for lives of leadership and service for the common good.” The benefits that both the learners and the community get from this facility are the main emphasis. It extends them through:

  1. Improving lives
  2. Transforming societies

An analysis of the education system at Gonzaga including academics, athletics and other aspects of school life show that they are perfect for nurturing successful individuals. The institution uses a holistic approach to ensure its students get training that prepares them for the world. Such an updated system makes them qualified to interact, lead, and transform wherever they go. In fact, Christian values make them even better while impacting societies.

Vision Statement

Gonzaga vision statement is “we believe in engendering a culture of excellence, community involvement and leadership opportunities.” The statement echoes the determination of this university towards empowerment of its students. It does this by:

  1. Enforcing a culture of excellence
  2. Nurturing leaders

The university ensures that all its students connect their passion with a purpose to drive achievements. Students who have ambitions work harder, and this is what the Gonzaga system helps everyone realize. At this facility, the focus is to help individuals become useful and dependable members of society, and that explains the emphasis on leadership skills.
